CDC & EClear Expand Raast Digital Payment Solutions in Pakistan Stock Market

Pakistan’s capital market is becoming increasingly easier to conduct digital payments with the Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited and EClear Services Limited expanding their partnership to deliver new payment and investor verification solutions using the Raast system provided by the State Bank of Pakistan.

This partnership, announced on October 26, 2026 will help streamline the payment process, increase efficiency within stock brokers and improve investor ease when conducting financial transactions.

The partnership expands on the existing Raast Person-to-Person (P2P) payments and Static QR Code solutions offered by CDC to provide new digital payment solutions to reduce manual processes.

CDC Expand Raast Payment Solutions

CDC continue to provide new digital financial solutions to the Pakistan capital market with their Raast Aggregator. They have now added Raast Person-to-Merchant (P2M) payments and IBAN-CNIC verification.

The announcement states CDC are the first organisation to provide these Raast payment and verification solutions.

The P2P and Static QR Code solutions already offered help clients of capital market institutions move money for trading, investing and other purposes. These new solutions will provide more additional payment processing.

This is part of improving the digital financial solutions available.

EClear Will Offer Dynamic QR Codes & Request to Pay

EClear Services will be the first organisation to offer Raast Person-to-Merchant (P2M) payment solutions with the Request to Pay Later (RTPL) and Dynamic QR Code.

Dynamic QR Code solutions can be used to receive payments for any particular transaction. Request to pay solutions provide another way of receiving payments.

This could help automate the debit and margin call process for Trading Only (TO) brokers who are linked to EClear. This helps ensure they receive monies owed.

This would help reduce manual processes for brokers.

Benefits to Investors

There are many benefits to this partnership.

Fast digital payments – Investors & organisations involved can receive payments easier.

Easier payment collection – Brokers can receive payment owed using digital payment requests and QR Codes.

Investor verification – IBAN-CNIC helps ensure the correct banking details match with the investors personal information.

Less manual processes – Automating some of these processes can help reduce repetitive processes.

More connected investment – Overall this helps improve the financial processes.

This will help improve the services but does not guarantee investment returns or remove the risk of transactions.

CDC Previous Raast Solutions

CDC have worked with the Raast system provided by the State Bank of Pakistan from an early stage.

We were the first capital market organisation to link up to Raast, and in 2021 we launched our bulk payment solution for our eDividend solution. (CDC CEO Badiuddin Akber)

Since then we have continued to expand our digital payment solutions for various organisations within Pakistan. This includes mutual funds, stockbrokers and insurance companies.

This latest partnership with EClear helps us expand our solutions further to payment processes within brokers.

What is Raast?

Raast is Pakistan’s instant payment solution provided by the State Bank of Pakistan. This helps provide digital payments and transfers to ensure they are easy to use.

This provides banks and other organisations with the tools to provide digital payments.

It can help streamline certain processes within the capital market. However it will depend on how well the Raast system is put in place, how well clients know about it and how well it is integrated. Security measures must also be in place.

What Does This Mean for the Stock Market in Pakistan?

The partnership between CDC & EClear shows how important digital payments are becoming within the capital market.

With the introduction of Dynamic QR Codes, Request to Pay Later and IBAN-CNIC verification it will help make payment collection and investor verification easier for organisations involved.

This can help streamline processes within brokers.

The main thing for investors is that there are more digital payments available within the stock market. How this impacts them long term will depend on how well it is put in place and how well brokers and financial organisations use the new service.
